| 授業概要 |
| This is a required course for all first-year students designed to help them improve the four basic skills in English -speaking, listening, writing, and reading. Along with the language skills, the course also aims to help students develop critical thinking skills that are necessary for them to pursue academic studies. Students are divided into approximately thirty per class according to the levels. Class is conducted in English. Self-study at Multimedia Center for Active Learning (MCAL) is also obligatory. |

| Assignments are regularly given in each class. Evaluation is based on attendance, classwork, quizzes, examination, MCAL attendance, and the General Test, which is given in the second semester to check students' improvement. |
